Dr Milton Lum Siew Wah



Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

Dr Milton Lum Siew Wah FRCOG, FAMM, a graduate of the University of Malaya, is a practicing Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. He had his post graduate training in teaching hospitals in the United Kingdom.

He is an elected member of the Malaysian Medical Council, the National Patient Safety Council, the Committee of the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health, the Council of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, the Board of Governors of Perdana University, and the Board of Directors of Medical Defence Malaysia.

Dr Lum had previously served as the President of the Malaysian Medical Association, President of the Federation of Private Medical Practitioners Associations of Malaysia, President of the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Malaysia, Chairman of the Malaysia Representative Committee of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Chairman of the Commonwealth Medical Trust, Vice President of the Commonwealth Medical Association and Executive Board Member of the International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics.

He was previously FIGO Visiting Professor, Deputy Scribe of the Academy of Medicine, and a member of the Boards of the National Heart Institute and the Social Security Organization with interests in office gynaecology, minimally invasive surgery, patient safety and medico-legal medicine.

Dr Lum is a regular columnist of the Star newspaper and a reviewer of the International Journal of Gynaecology and Obstetrics and the International Society for Quality in Healthcare.
